Citywide Sewer Maintenance Underway in Duarte

Post Date:05/28/2026

Los Angeles County Public Works (LACPW), in partnership with the City of Duarte, will conduct closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections of sewer lines throughout the community between June 1, 2026, and October 21, 2026.

The inspections will be performed by Empire Pipe Cleaning and Equipment, Inc. as part of the County’s ongoing Condition-Assessment Program, which proactively evaluates the condition of the sanitary sewer system to identify potential issues before they become larger problems.

Using specialized equipment, crews will inspect sewer lines to detect defects, deterioration, blockages, or other maintenance needs. The program helps improve infrastructure reliability, protect public health, and reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows and service disruptions.

As part of the inspection process, crews may need to access sewer manholes located within sewer easements, including those on private property. In these cases, contractor personnel and LACPW employees will only require access to exterior areas of the property. Entry into homes or buildings will not be necessary.

Residents whose properties contain sewer manholes within easement areas will receive advance notification prior to any required access.

Questions may be directed to Empire Pipe Cleaning and Equipment, Inc. at (714) 639-8352, or to Los Angeles County Public Works at (626) 446-5227.
