Vehicles may be lawfully parked on a public street or highway for no more than 72 hours. Vehicles not moved within 72 hours are subject to be towed away by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Cars may only be parked on an approved paved surface. The driveway and garage as defined by Duarte Municipal Code are the only lawful parking places on residential property.

Roosters and other farm animals or livestock are prohibited in the R-1 zone. Horses are allowed in certain zones after obtaining a conditional use permit. If you have specific questions, please contact the Public Safety Office at (626) 357-7938 prior to purchasing or bringing the animal home.

A vehicle owner/operator who believes that a citation has been issued in error may appeal a citation by requesting an Administrative Review within 21 calendar days from the citation issue date. Appeal online at www.citationprocessingcenter.com or submit a written statement (with any supporting documentation and/or photographs) to:

Residents/Guests are able to purchase a parking permit for $1.00 a day for a maximum of 10 days and can be purchased on Huntington Drive in front of Duarte City Hall, or via on-line Flowbird app. There are no residency requirements for temporary permits. Temporary permits are also available if construction on the home or driveway obstructs parking space. View additional Parking Permit information.

RV permits may only be purchased at the Duarte Public Safety Department located at 1042 Huntington Drive, Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and Friday-Saturday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

RV Parking Permit Fees:

Senior Citizens (60 years of age or older)-$5.00 per day. First 3 days per month are FREE.

Resident-$10.00 per day up to 6 days a month

Guest-$15.00 per day up to 6 days a month

No RV permit will be issued for a residential address for more than a total of six (6) days in any calendar month.
